  • FCP crashes during Share Export to DVD

Hello, I’m trying to create and burn SD DVD and Bluray by using the share option in FCP. I shoot with DSLRs and the file sizes are big, but does it really take 12 hours to create a DVD that’s 1hour 30mins.? Is this normal? I’ve created DVDs before using share with Z1U footage, it only took 3 hours.
More importantly, FCP crashes after 7 hours of exporting files, it will open my drawer for the DVD and then crash. Why is this happening?

It could. You never said what computer you’re using and what your sequence settings are.

If you had a Mac Pro with Matrox Compress HD card plus Episode Pro, it would take about an hour.

Make sure your sequence is completely rendered to prevent crashing.

Sorry about that, I’m using a Mac Pro Dual Quad core. Sequence settings: Apple ProRes 422 1920×1080 60i. Since my last post, I was able to successfully create a Bluray using Share (it took 23 hours) However, since then, FCP has been crashing. Thanks!
