  • FCP crashed, autosave won’t open in a weird way

Posted by Anton Anisimov on August 22, 2013 at 8:41 am

My project crashed and it won’t open any of the autosaves.
Weird thing is that when trying to open autosave it won’t even start “Reading project” nor it will say project is corrupt. It’s almost like I haven’t tried to open anything, I can still used menus etc.

I have tried deleting renders, disconnecting drives etc. I tried opening projects on macbook, same thing. So it’s probably about the files themselves.

Anybody ran into this or has any suggestions?

Thanks Rafael, but that doesn’t help. Looks like FCP was autosaving every single time in a corrupted manner (but it doesn’t say it’s corrupted or unreadable, it doesn’t anything actually). I tried opening this one on a completely fresh FCP on a lap top, same thing. Every other project opens just fine.

So the problem is in the system.
Repair permissions, and if doesn’t works, try DiskWarrior.

Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s the files as they don’t open even on another completely fresh system. But thanks for the input.
