  FCP Crash

  Long Story,..
  Equipment involved: Mac G5
  OSX 10.5.7
  FCP 5.0.1 Academic
  Canon XH-A1s HDV
  STORY:
  I’ve been editing with this same equipment for 4 years straight with no problem. Suddenly FCP would no longer capture video, it wasn’t getting a video signal. I bought a new firewire, I changed the bus I was plugged into, no help. I unloaded FCP and reloaded anew, no help. I played with ALL my preferences, no help.
  So,.. I down loaded Digital Rebellion’s “Preference Manager” trashed my preferences and now when I try to log & capture FCP crashes.
  I have 20 hours of tape waiting to be captured, I’m frustrated and I’m shooting on Friday for three hours.
  I’m drowning here, someone toss me a life preserver.
