    I am not entirely sure what the correct term would be for this, but basically I have a video made by iPhoto of polaroid style photos dropping onto a plain black background. I have that imported into FCP and want to key the black background out so that the photos can drop onto a video behind them.

    Is it possible to Colour Key the black background, but not the black in the photos? The sort of effect you get when using the magic wand in Photoshop set on Contiguous mode…

    The photos in the video are all surrounded by a white border.

    I’ve had a quick look through the forums and on Google, but I tend to get a million pages of just keying tips (so I assume it is not possible). Thanks in advance for any responses!

    This is not really going to work. If it were me, I’d simply make the slide show in Motion or AE.
