  • FCP Conforming ProRes 422 on render – Odd…..

Posted by Mike Johnson on July 28, 2008 at 6:47 pm

I’ve been editing HDV for the past couple of months. I capture in native HDV and set my sequence render control codec to ProRes 422. Normally, when I choose Render All (with every option checked) the sequence will render, but not conform. Exactly what I want it to do since I am not finishing to HDV tape.

Today, FCP suddenly wants to conform when I Render All. No settings have been changed. I’m working on the same sequence I have been working on for the past week and a half. Up until today, FCP has not tried to conform it when I render. I find that if I open the sequence settings (to verify I haven’t accidentally changed something), go to the Render Control tab, then click OK (without changing anything) FCP no longer tries to conform the sequence. Odd…..

So far today this has happened twice. I’m not sure why. Has anyone else experienced this??
