( I put this is in FCP forum then realized there was this one – sorry for the double post)

    Hey guys
So recently I’ve noticed something strange in Final Cut at the Lab where I work. We own a HVX and HPX and just recently I’ve noticed that when it Imports footage shot in 720p24PN ( which is how we suggest our students shoot) the footage is being ingested in the codex DVCPRO HD 720p60. FCP still shows that the frame rate is 23.98 . Dont remember FCP doing this in the past – I dont understand why its not “log and transferring” the footage into DVCPRO HD 720p24 ?
    any suggestions?
    thanks

As answered in the FCP forum…it’s just the compressor type, that’s all. Just the name of that codec. The frame rate can vary, but the 720p format is always 720p60 based.

It’s only a name. All is fine. Move along.
