FCP causing MediaRaid to crash/eject on start up
When attempting to start FCP, my MediaRaid is crashing and ejecting. It is where scratch discs are set.
I recently dug up an old DVD folder and was using Mpeg stream clip to export a quicktime. At the time this was causing the MediaRaid problems. It dissapeared and only came back online after shutting down and power cycling.
I have since deleted those files which seemed to cause the original problems and have ran applicable disc utility repairs. The MediaRaid appeared to be act normally after that but it seems as if what ever error occurred is now causing FCP problems.
Any ideas?

You might want to talk to the manufacturer of the RAID.
Your description does not indicate to me anything that could possibly interfere with RAID or drive functions; they’re just files.Does FCP run if you disconnect this RAID?

I seem to have come up with a solution – though the raid is still occasionally unstable (it removed itself again while rendering causing ‘a device removal’ warning, after I had come up with the solution described below).
I suspected that it hand something to do with a corrupt file in one of the scratch folders. By removing all of them FCP opened fine. I then reintroduced the originals one by one (restarting FCP each time to check). Seemingly it was the the render folders that contained the problem.
However I still think that there is a more general fault relating to the Media Raid. I’ll get in touch with the manufacturers as suggested.
Have you come across something like this before?

Run Disk Warrior on the RAID. You may simply have to rebuild the directory. If so, DW will fix it.
Also, what controller card do you use? Do you have the current driver/firmware for it?
