  FCP Capture/Sycn Issues

  I may already know the answer to this however just wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything…

  Capturing footage from an SD DV tape via Firewire off of a Sony DV deck. I’ve captured 7 reels in total… all except ONE are fine. The one reel capture that is problematic has out of synch audio/video. I recaptured the reel and it’s all fine.

  So my question is… what would cause the synch issues?

  My suspicion is that at some pont during capture the drive became busy with another task (such as Time Machine), causing it to slow down and cause the synch issue with capture.

  Would that assessment be correct? What else might cause this issue?
