FCP capture to external drive
Hi, hoping someone out there can help with this seemingly easy fix. I’m working with a unibody MacBook Pro, trying to capture HDV footage from a Sony V1U, my FCP scratch set to capture to a 1TB G-Raid drive. I’m going camera FW into G-Raid / G-Raid FW into MacBook Pro
FCP is recognizing it to a point, as it will cue and then play the tape, but 1) the capture window never changes from the black screen / ‘cueing tape, hit ESC to stop’ message and 2) I can’t find any captured footage after the footage runs its course.
Earlier, I’ve captured directly to MacBook Pro via Firewire, and then dumped the footage onto the G-Raid external, but I’m trying to find a direct route to save me having to move the footage, as well as having to continually reset my scratch disk location.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And my apologies if this has been addressed in the forum already.. I searched a bit, but wasn’t able to find this specific issue anywhere.
Many thanks –
