I’ve set up to capture off camera HDV 1080i50 and all the settings are right, well, they seem to be. I hit play and then Capture Now and the tape is off and running. It plays the whole way through until it hits the end of the tape, then when I go to grab the clip out of the Browser to cut it, it’s only thirty seconds long when it should be closer to forty minutes. The same thing happens for other tapes, but they’re varying lengths – fifteen minutes instead of an hour, ten minutes instead of fifty etc.

I’m re-capturing the footage now and there doesn’t seem to be any problems with it this time around. That being said, there didn’t seem to be last time, either.

I’m curious as to what it might’ve been. Any suggestions?

It was shot DVCAM on a Z1P but captured on a Sony Handicam, I’m not sure of the exact model. But it seems that that was probably the issue – even though the Handicam camera is supposed to be able to handle DVCAM. We’ve recaptured most of the footage on a Z1P and so far everything is accounted for.

    Thanks for your help though.
