    Hello,
I have a weird thing happening in a timeline:
Using the shortcut ctrl-v to slice (with NOTHING highlighted/selected), it only cuts the audio. Usually I use it to slice everything at once OR a selection. This is really slowing down my workflow as I’m used to using this command.

So, I’m going through footage and slicing, and I have to double-edit every cut, first the audio, then select the video clip and slice that above it over the audio edit.

anyone had this problem before? Some weird setting I accidentally hit?

    Thanks.

To cut you need to use b not v. Doble b cuts everthing in the vertical line not just one clip.

probably Auto-select is turned off in the relevant video tracks.
thats the tiny dark grey buttons left of the timeline

Command Zero will toggle AUtoselect on all video tracks.
Command 1-8 on specific V tracks

Option Zero, OPtion 1-8 for audio tracks

no, control-V cuts everything that the timeline marker is on without having to click the mouse. I prefer to use control-V over B because it’s faster for me to not use the mouse.

My question was answered below though, the issue was that the auto-select was accidentally off for the v1 track. Now I can control-V slice til the cows come home!

Thanks so much, that was the problem, auto-select.
