First off hello and thank you to anyone whos reading this.

    Second is my issue this:

We have a Apple Raid which is housing a 2.7 TB project file, so we then purchased a Lacie Quadra Raid to back up our apple raid.

The Transfers went great and have the exact file sizes in each folder. We used Retrospect to do all of this.

But the problem come in here: we take off the APPLE raid and change the name on the lacie raid to the exact name of the previous raid, i open a project up and theres nothing attached though i can find all the files needed and theres a blank line in the reconnect files window which i cant seem to bypass to relink all the rest of the media.

on top of that when the media is linked it has to be all re-rendered though all the render files were backed up as well.

is there some answer to this ive tried to search and i am not that good with final cut(im the audio guy at the studio)

Thanks for any input or links that can point me in the right direction

    Thanks again

    Chris,

Though logic would tell you that everything you have done should work, it often doesn’t. The only reliable way to copy or move all media files to another drive and have them relink seamlessly is to use Media Manager to do the job, it keeps the links to all files throughout the process. Best read the manual if you’re not fully up to date with Media Manager.
