I’m doing a final mix in a half hour show. It sounds fine, so I just need to limit the peaks to -10 for my client. I have soundtrack pro, but I don’t really know how to use it- the limiter seems to just drop the level of the whole audio, and the adaptive limiter only lets me set the output ceiling to -2, I need -10.

What am I not picking up on???? This should be super easy. I just want to crush the peaks for broadcast, without affecting anything else and I don’t have the time to mix the whole 30 min piece. What are my options?

    Thanks!

Without sitting in front of my computer I can’t be 100% sure about this but I believe there is a a compressor effect in FCP that should get the job done.

The limiter and compressor in FCP doesn’t seem to allow for a hard ceiling above which the audio will not rise. Still very confused, audio is tricky to me, it seems like it should be so easy…
