    Hi…

I created another user (acct) on my mac with limitations (no access to the internet) for a family member.
I have given them the privilege to use All other Apps…such as FCP and Photoshop….

Need help on these 4 problems we encounter:

    1. Before FCP opens a window pops-up “Apple Fire-Wire Missing”
    2. Instead of clicking “Check Again” we click “Continue” and the Program opens just fine but when try to Save a project is says…”File Error: Access Denied”

    3. Some photoshop folders/files are locked

    4. Projects won’t open

*This all happens only on the New Acct”

Does anyone know what we can do to fix this?

    Thank you in advance

    Thanks,
    Richie

    Richie,

as administrator for the computer, you have to set permissions for other users. You’ll either need to place things in the public/shared folder (with permissions set to either “read” or “read and write” — or “no access” if needs be) or, in the instance of the “access denied” error you’re receiving on the FCP save, allow the new user account to have a folder on the hard drive that they can write information back to. (Usually a Mac Hard Drive/User/Documents folder structure.) But it sounds like you’ve got permission issues that you’ll need to manually control and set as the administrator.

    Best,

    Josh
