Does anyone know if Final Cut supports video assisst?

Basically, I’m going to to be on a show with Two film cameras and I need to figure out how I can do real-time capturing and editing with
a G4 laptop using Final Cut Pro.

I believe FCP 5 has multi-cam editing as well?

You can only capture one feed at a time. You would need a second system to capture the second camera at the same time. Then move you capture files back to the first system for editing.

I am very interested in setting up aa Apple based video assist system.

I was wondering if anyone was successfully using such systems?

I have been considering cheap, simple set ups – such as an imac G5 20″ mounted in a stormcase with firewire drives, capture card and video distribution amp.

    Any thoughts out there?
