I’m in the countdown to switching from FCP to PP. My plan is to install Snow Leopard/64-bit and the Adobe product suite on one of the internal drives of my Mac Pro (8-core late 2007 MacPro 1.2). I would leave my other internal drive unchanged: running Snow Leopard in 32-bit with FCP. I need to keep FCP for the foreseeable future for legacy project work, etc.

I can’t see anything wrong with his configuration but maybe I’m missing some insidious problem. Is anyone else here running a similar setup as they make the switch?

I don’t think it’s necessary to partition the drives. Final Cut Studio and Production Premium CS5.5 can live on the same drive with no issues I’ve ever seen.

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks. Actually, I’m working with two separate internal drives; not a partitioned drive. So I think my configuration should work fine. I’m just not sure and I thought I would check for some expert guidance before setting it up.

It will work fine either way. Best of luck!

I have a similar configuration, and it’s working fine.
