    Hello,
    I posted this in the OSX forum, without any success… hopefully the more populated FCP forum can address this issue…

    this is a really silly little problem, but really annoying if I’m exporting and saving repeatedly from all applications like photoshop, FCP, Shake etc etc;
    Say I have to export loads of clips from FCP… each time I choose to export, finder will forget the most recent destination and re-locate me to the root directory… You can imagine how annying this is if your destination is 10 directories deep…
    Anyone else have this problem?
    I reinstalled the computer about six months ago, and it got rid of the problem… but, it came back….

    thanks in advance

    Try trashing the prefs and/or plist files for the errant programs.

    Thanks for the suggestion Jerry, but no luck… could it be a hardware thing? All programs except shake do the same thing…

    Sure doesn’t sound like a hardware related thing. But more likely something going on with the OS… maybe. I’d think reinstalling it all would help, but I don’t think this is a very good solution… way too much work. I’d love to know the answer to this myself!

    I’m not as versed in OS X as I’d like to be, but I’d strongly suggest you post this in the OS X forum at Apple Dicussions… it’s very busy there with folk who really know the OS in and out…
