  • FCP and Compressor – Help!?

Okay, yesterday I captured three short films into FCP – all from PAL MiniDV, all off Sony HVR-M15 deck, all more or less at the same time, all into the same project with the same settings.

I then marked in and out point on them all, and exported them all, from the bin via Compressor.

In compressor, they were all given the same settings (4.5Mbit VBR MPEG2 with MUXed Audio) with the and processed. 4 of the 6 were just fine. However two of them, when played in Quicktime, show no video and the clip information only lists MPEG2-Layer3 audio – not video at all. However these files are still the same ~200MB that all the others are – so obviously the data is in there.

I’ve tried redoing just those two, I’ve tried doing them one at a time. I’ve check the video in FCP (it’s fine). What else can I do? Soon I will start headbutting my desk – and it seldom gets any better from that point.

Not sure whats happening to you, but try this as a workaround.

You said that you’ve exported “via compressor”.
    Try doing a export-quicktime.
    Then take that into compressor.

The only thing that I can think is that maybe the 2 offending sequences have some corruption. Since everything else is the same (settings/method/timing etc). Maybe try copy/paste These two into new sequences.

    Good luck.
