I have noticed that the font sizes in the Boris bundled title package seem larger on screen than titles using the same parameters and Boris Grafitti on another computer. I work on a news program that needs consistent lower third style and size. If say the M100 edit suite (yes, we’re changing the remaining 2 M100’s to FCP later this year) with Boris grafitti puts out 48 pt Gill sans and I punch in the same parameters on FCP using the included Boris plug-in, the resulting title looks huge on screen. Maybe it’s just a quirk, and for now I’m eyeballing it to maintain uniformity, but I was just curious if anyone has run across the same kind of thing…
Not a big problem, just curiousity…
    thanks, kim

this may be due to the fact that Media 100 (last time I used it) was a 640×480 application and FCP is 720×486 application in SD (or 720×480 in DV). So it’s possible that the pixel size of the fonts are interpreting slightly differently.

Best advice is to bring in a Media 100 clip and manually size up your FCP fonts to that clip, then use that as your standard on FCP to match the Media 100 fonts.

Good advice. I’ll do that. Your explanation makes sense too. Thanks, Walter.
