    Hi there

I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to provide me with a bit of advice / feedback before I spend money on my editing set up.

I need to edit a feature film, shot on 35mm at 25fsp and telecined to Digibeta. At this point it will be going out as a DVD release.

I have a 2.7Ghz G5 with 2 x 23″ cinema displays and was looking to get the BlackMagic DeckLink HD Pro card and the HDlink for video monitoring. I will be renting a deck to input the footage.

Just want to confirm that the this set up will provide the highest input quality (I think digibeta is 4:2:2) and I can monitor the footage once in the G5 on one of the cinema displays via the HDlink box.

Also does the HDlink – Cinema combination give a true colour representation ie: for colour correction, or would it be better to purchase a dedicated play back monitor?

The next project will be a Film to HD edit. Only this one is on SD.

Any advice or feedback on setting up a system would be appreciated.

    thanks for your time.
