January 22, 2007 at 9:31 pmDo the color correction in AE if you are working 10-bit. That bug in FCP apparently still hasn’t been fixed.
Sounds like a good workflow to me.

January 22, 2007 at 9:45 pmNot sure if this will affect what you’re doing (or planning), since you’ll be using Animation,
but Mike over at HDForIndies:

has a thread about some AE 10 bit, export from QT issues.

January 23, 2007 at 1:17 amI am a little confused about you workflow, but you should know that you cannot edit in FCP in real time with the sequence set to animation. I do not see any image degradation when doing cc in FCP in 10 bit, but then again, I don’t do animation so perhaps your standards are different. I don’t see why you need to to AE then back to FCP, then back to AE, then back to FCP. It seems to me you can cut out a few steps there.

January 23, 2007 at 3:25 pmIf you want your FCP clips to be separate layers in After Effects– sounds like it since you’re adding effects and color correcting– consider Automatic Duck’s Pro Import AE plug-in for translating the FCP timeline to After Effects. https://www.automaticduck.com/piae/
The plug-in will save you loads of time and hassle.
