April 3, 2011 at 9:18 pmI’m very disappointed in the crazy delay to bring an update to the market. By default Apple owes us a 64-bit program with better support with other formats such as MXF, AVC-Intra, DSLR’s and so on.
The place where apple keeps me using Final cut pro in the future will be GPU acceleration (either with Nvidia Cuda software but best guess would be using ATI’s stream technology).
I don’t want to move over to Premiere CS5, but the idea of not having to work with render times and having speed is a Big thing for me. I mean, if I’m going to get back 20%-35% of my time back with because of the performance boost to focus on other elements of the production line, that just sings with me.
I’m crossing my fingers that FCP 8 will push ahead of Premiere CS5 & CS6 this year, but that sure does sound like alot of work to accomplish for apple in a next update.
Well just have to wait and see.
