So this is weird. I’ve got a project that’s getting too big, so I decided to copy the most relevant sequences to a new project. Some of the sequences have external audio that’s been linked to the video.

When I paste the sequence into a new project, many of the media names on the timeline are changed so that the video name matches the audio name. I thought it might have been a glitch from copying too many sequences at once, but I just re-copied a single problematic sequence after a restart (and a System Update to confirm I’m on the latest and greatest) and the exact same thing happened.

Whilst it still links to the correctly named media when I match back (and reference using the “Reconnect Files” dialog), this still seems worrisome and problematic.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a strange setting that I don’t know about? Or is this just a really annoying bug?

    (Details: 10.6.8, 2×2.66 Dual-Core, 8 GB RAM.)
