    A friend just migrated an older computer to an up to date MPB. Anytime I try to launch FCP, or any other part of FCS, it crashes before even starting to load.
    Any idea how I can fix it?

    Search the forum for “clean install”.

    Yeah, that’s the best I had to offer so far too. Unfortunately, he’s thousands of miles away from his software at the moment.

    If he has his FCP 7 registration number he can borrow anyone’s install discs and reinstall FCP. Uninstall first. Not as good as a full clean install but most likely will do the trick. If he registered FCP , Apple might be able to send him registration number.
