FCP 7 – wanted
Final Cut 7 wanted or studio 3. Currently using 6 and would like to upgrade (but not not to X !!). Anyone have a copy of 7 or know where I can obtain it ? UK based.

Your request leads to an obvious question. As Apple is no longer selling or supporting FCP 7 / Studio 3, can one of us “owners” sell copies of our software along with the serial numbers to a third party? Just askin’

Yes you can. I don’t know the details with Apple, but I’ve sold tons of adobe software on eBay and transferred the serials to the new owner. Adobe has a transfer of license form and you have to get a case number, etc. It’s a little convoluted, but it works.
I would assume eBay still has FCS 3 copies. FCP 7 is/was never available as a standalone product.

Thanks for this, Bret. My question was probably not well stated. What I wanted to explore was the notion of not transferring my license and software, but rather keeping my software and merely letting others use it, too, or buy a copy from me along with the serial number. Clearly this would be illegal (and may still be) if Apple was still marketing Final Cut Pro 7. Again, just wonderin’
