  FCP 7 Stops Responding during Playback

  I just finished about 17 minute project. I did some color work and then just finished up my work from Sountrack Pro. I brought the XML file back into FCP and after opening up the sequence FCP now stops responding. I get the spinning rainbow wheel and it won’t go away. I try to restart the program and it happens again and again. This is the first project this has ever happened on. Any ideas what could be wrong so that I don’t lose all the work I just did?

  My stuff is saved and opens back up perfectly fine and then the “Application Not Responding.”

  That’s the info from the report I get when I close the program.

  Event: hang
  Duration: 8.00s (sampling started after 2 seconds)
  Steps: 39 (100ms sampling interval)

  I’ve figured out that it only happens when I try to playback my video. When I open the project I can edit, render, save, export, ect… but but once I press space to play back my timeline it stops responding and doesn’t catch up.

  I already trashed my preferences and that didn’t work.
