    HI All,

I’m editing a long form doc with hours of footage so being able to see dupe frames is crucial.
I had set it in the User Preferences and in the sequence settings, tried with a fresh sequence, tried renaming the clips but no joy…

Any ideas..? (working on OS 10.9.5,footage was shot on Cannon C100 with Ninja blade as an external recorder. Apple ProRess 422 dragged and dropped into a project)

Many thanks in advance for your help !

Make sure the footage has REEL NUMBERS. Without those, FCP doesn’t know it’s from the same clip. Reel number and timecode are the main things for Duplicate Frames to be displayed. I know many external recorders that record directly to QT don’t add reel number in the metadata.

The only think I can think of is the OS version. The last version of the Operating System that FULLY supported FCP 7 (FCS 3) is 10.6.8. Every update past that means going further and further from full support, and possibly features not working. by 10.9.5, Compressor and Motion, bundled in FCS 3…stopped working. Color was highly unstable. By 10.10, Color stopped working, and DVD studio pro as well. 10.11…I’m sure many features might be affected.

You can try to trash the FCP PReferences (look for PREFERENCE MANAGER by DIgital Rebellion…it’s free) and see if that fixes it. If not…might be an OS support issue.
