September 16, 2009 at 2:20 amHi Jason,
Your is supposed to be 16×9 or 4×3?
[Morten Ranmar] “Beware Quicktime export wants to export at the size your canvas is set to, unless you specify other… “
Sorry but that’s not right. If would be so I would be exporting always at a 50% when I work with my MBP.
You export with the sequence settings.

September 16, 2009 at 3:24 pmOpen in QT player, hit CMD J, click ‘presentation’, toy around with Aperture.
Now if for some reason you need custom settings, and want to set dimensions in Batch, use this FREE tool:

September 17, 2009 at 8:45 pmI am getting the same problem, but with PAL footage. In FCP 6 I used to export with “current settings” on a 16×9 sequence and I would get a 720×576 movie. I would hit command J and change this to 1024×576 so that it would work as widescreen in iDVD. Now when I export from FCP 7 I get a movie that displays in the correct aspect ratio, but when I drop it into iDVD it is anamorphic. Also when I change aspect using command J in quicktime, it no longer will force it to display correctly in iDVD. And also the information about the screen dimensions in quicktime is odd, just as the OP had said… but it’s not just the numbers… the actual movie looks like it’s in the wrong aspect sometimes.
Quite frustrating. Anyone having the same problem?

It’s quite frustrating that with all the info you need to solve your problem you post this.Besides, this is a FCP forum. If you have FCP, you have DVDSP.
Why bothering going to iDVD?Bouke

September 18, 2009 at 1:27 amCan you confirm that you went to Presentation for the file and set it to Classic and then set the video track to the correct dimensions?
All the best,
Tom
