FCP 7: Problem with (unrendered)
Hey guys,
I am new to FCP. I am having a problem that I cannot preview my footage (mpeg-2) in FCP “Viewer”. It pops up a blue screen says “unrendered”. Also, the time line cannot display my footage’s audio.
I have tried to change the RT setting from “Safe RT” to “Unlimited RT”, and when i do this, FCP says “Warning – Frames Dropped”.
So, what is the problem? Is that a problem with my footage? or is that a bug?

The problem is the codec. FCP doesn’t support MPEG files for editing. You need to transcode it to ProRes, then FCP will like it…
