July 30, 2009 at 9:28 pmYeah, that’s a weird one.
I don’t know either. Sounds like something didn’t get installed properly. You didn’t reinstall from a Time Machine backp or anything, did you?

July 30, 2009 at 9:44 pmNope not a time machine backup. But close, when we went to install the FCP 3 update on that machine it turned out there wasn’t enough hard drive space, and that machine’s hard drive was small anyway, so we installed a new drive and used Disk Utility’s “Restore” function to clone the old drive onto the new one, we then booted over to that drive and updated to FCP 3. I didn’t think this would be a problem since FCP2 and everything else (including picky CS4) ran fine on the new drive. Do you think this could have something to do with it?

July 30, 2009 at 10:11 pmTime to create a New User and see if that doesn’t help. It usually does.

July 30, 2009 at 10:47 pmI’m a little embarrassed I didn’t think of that. Nevertheless, worked brilliantly! Thanks for the help folks.

Yeah, sounds a bit fishy to me as maybe something crucial didn’t get restored. The new user thing is a good work around, but I’d be curious to see if you could fix the old one.
Both your canvas and viewer are set to RGB and not ALpha, correct?
Also, does this happen with new projects or just ‘old’ FCP6 ones?
