We are using Mac Pro 3.1, 8 core machines with intensity pro cards. Mac OS 10.6.8.
Using a company Logo which is a Tiff, 200 pixels square at 72, 8 bit RGB with alpha causes FCP to crash as soon as you open it. Tried the same image on another machine and get the same result. Converted to PNG it works fine. I’ve checked everything regarding it’s format in Photoshop and everything seems correct. Other Tiffs with alpha or without are absolutely fine and when comparing the file attributes they are identical. The Logo also causes a crash on a machine running FCP 6, also with an intensity Pro card. Obviously there is something about this logo that is somehow different. We know the workaround but has anyone got a clue what might be going on here?
