FCP 7 – Frame Rate Conversioin Issue
I have a 20 minute project shot 1920×1080 and 23.98 (H264). I converted the file to ProRes to be edited in FCP7. The intended delivery copy is 1920×1080 and 23.98.
For some reason, the editor set the sequences to 1280×720 and 29.97…
Is there a quick and efficient way to update/change the settings beyond rebuilding the entire sequence from scratch?
I know copying and pasting in a new sequence with the correct settings diminishes the quality and leaves gaps.

Nope… Well, sorta. You won’t have to redo from scratch, but you will have a LOT of fixing to do.
1) create a new sequence.
2) Drop a clip you converted into that sequence. Click yes when FCP asks if you want to change the sequence settings to match.
3) delete the clip. The task was to get a sequence with the proper settings.
4) Select ALL and COPY all the clips from the bad sequence.
5) Paste into the new sequence.
6) Fix all the gaps and potential sync issues.
