FCP 7 Copy and Paste Sequences — video stretched or stills elongated
When I copy and paste a video sequence into another pre-existing sequence the video is stretched. If I open a NEW sequence and paste in another sequence the video came out normal and the stills were compressed (elongated).

Stills are all low res currently — 800×593 RGB or 1179x 1653 RGB all JPEGsAJA Kona LHi

Do the sequence settings of BOTH sequences match? Sounds like one has different settings, like taking your 960×720 footage and putting it into a full raster 1280×1080, or 1920×1080 sequence.

Shane: Thanks for the reply. You’re right. The sequence settings are different. So when I try and copy and paste a sequence that is frame size 1280×720 Aspect Ratio HDV 720 (16:9) Pixel Aspect Square INTO a sequence with the proper sequence setting for my project 960×720 HD (960×720) Pixel Aspect Ratio HD (960×720), I get the video stretching.
So what is the solution? If I try and change the Sequence Setting of the 1280×720 to 960×720, the video becomes 4×3. And if I copy and paste video from that changed sequence that is now 4:3 into my current, proper sequence 960×720, it too looks stretched. How do I change the sequence settings so the video is not stretched? Thanks so much. Really appreciate your help.

YOu need to adjust the DISTORTION of one clip (double click to load into Viewer, click on the MOTION tab, adjust distortion) until it looks right. Then copy that clip, and paste the attributes to the rest of the footage you brought over.
