This happened all of a sudden, and I did not have this problem just a few minutes ago. I am too busy to look it up, so please do not bust my chops if it is an easy fix, or a simple find on the internet. All I am asking for is help or direction from someone with more time than me.

FCP 7 will not allow me to put a new clip directly at the end of the last clip anymore. It does not give me definite start/stop points of clips in the sequence. How do I fix this? I do not want to be dropping new clips into the TL and deleting all spaces.

    Thank you!

One possible reason for not getting clean edits or flash frames in a sequence is trying to edit H264 clips directly into the timeline.
This often results in the kind of behaviour that you mention.
If this is the case transcode to ProRes and you should be fine.
