I will be outsourcing a project to an editor who will be using Sony Vegas. The video is a sideshow with hundreds of company photos and projects with voice over and music under. When he is finished with the project, is there anyway of exporting his sequence information so that I can open it and edit it if needed in FCP 7?

I am unfamiliar with how Sony Vegas works so any help is appreciated.

Vegas Pro can save a project in Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) and as an Edit Decision List (EDL). It supports both Edit Protocol Compliant AAF and Avid Legacy AAF. I don’t know if FCP 7 can open any of those formats but those are you choices. I would do some testing with the Vegas editor to see how it works out.

Okay, thanks John. I do know Final Cut has the option on importing EDL. I’ve never used this feature so I will have to try it out and tell you how it went.
