  • FCP 6.0.2 Sync? File issue!!!

Posted by Megan Alderson on November 27, 2007 at 12:59 pm

I am using FCP 6.0.2 on MAC PRO 2.66 Dual to cut a multi cam show. I am running Tiger 10.4.11 and Quicktime Pro 7.3.
I digitized Beta SP with a Black Magic card.
I opened a new project and when I imported the footage some of the files were altered in length and sync. FOr example one QT was half as long as it should have been. ANother lost sync with itself halfway through the clip. (I checked the QTs in the capture scratch folder and they were fine.)
ALso when I imported a wav file it was shortened by 9 seconds. I know this because when I opened this file on an older Mac with FCP 5 it was fine. I should be able to sync this wav with my footage of the live show.
    I am losing my mind.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

What is the sample rate of the wave file? Different sample rates from the FCP default can cause sync issues. Everything in FCP is 48kHz.

As for the QT files, I have no idea. Possible FCP issue. Trash preferences, restart, and see if that helps.
