Posted by Michael Ruiz on February 5, 2008 at 1:17 am

    Hi All

When in the Log and Transfer window
I get a Red Unkown Error when importing P2 media.
The media is good / tested on FCP 5. Seems like a bug?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry if this posting is a duplicate. I had Log In issues..

    Thanks

    Michael

1)make sure you have the codecs/drivers from Panasonic:

    https://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/support/software_downloads.asp

    2) Upgrade fxfactory if you have it

    3) uninstall Perian if you have it

    Thanks Jeremy..

I did the suggested and still have error messages.
    I don’t get it.

Is there a specific codec from Panasonic that I am missing?
    I downloaded the driver..

    Thanks Again

As long as you have FCP installed, yes.

Try turning off the ‘Remove Duplicate Frames’ option in the log and transfer window preferences (the little gear looking thing).

    What format is your footage?

The footage is DVCPRO HD 720 60
    This could be the issue.

I’ve been able to import DVCPRO 50

I’ll give turning off “Remove Duplicate Frames” a try.

I need to step away from the studio for the evening.
I have a sick child at home.

    I’ll leave a response i the AM

    Thanks you for the help…

If you have any other ideas leave a note and I’ll try them in the morning

Thanks Again…I do appreciate your time!!!

Checking the ‘remove duplicate frames’ box should do it, especially for 720p60 footage.

    Hope the kid’s okay.

Thanks for all the support Jeremy and Walter

In the Log and Transfer preferences pull down I unchecked
the “remove advanced pulldown and duplicate frames” box and the media imported easily.

I also viewed the Tutorial by Shane Ross, Thanks Shane!!

    Until the next FCP issue…
