FCP 6 won’t install
HI,
I am trying to uninstall FCP 5. I have done all of this:1) Close FCP
2) Go to: /users/username/library/preferences/
a. Delete the com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
b. Delete the FCP User data folder.
3) Go to: Applications
a. Delete FCP application
b. Delete FCP HD addition easy setups folder.
4) Go to: /library/applicaton support/fcp system support/
a. Delete Custom Settings folder
b. Delete Plugins folder
5) Go to: /library/receipts/ and delete the following:
a. AnalogPAL.pkg
b. AppleIntermediateCodec.pkg
c. DigitalPAL.pkg
d. DVCproHDCodec.pkg
e. FinalCutPro.pkg
f. FinalCutproHDUpdate4.5.pkg
g. FinalCutProHelp.pkg
h. HDVCodec.pkg
i. IMXCodec.pkg
j. Uncompressed422.pkg
k. VideoOutSupport.pkg
6) Insert the FCP 5.0 upgrade disk and re-install.7) Run the OSX Disk Utility
a. Select the OSX drive
b. Repair the Disk Permissions.
c. Reboot.
8)Run Software update to get back to 5.0.4.AND FCP WILL STILL NOT HIGHLIGHT IN THE LIST OF APPLICATIONS TO INSTALL FROM FCP STUDIO 2. IT SAYS THAT FCP 5 & BORIS CALLIGRAPHY STILL EXIST. I ALSO READ SOMEWHRE TO GO TO MY TERMINAL AND SEE THE LIST OF PROGRAMS AND THIS IS WHAT IT GAVE ME (I DON’T UNDERSTAND IT)
-h print full usage
-s print pathnames only
-f list files
-d list directories
-l list symbolic links
-b list block devices
-c list character devices
-m print modified times
-x suppress modes for directories and symlinks
–arch archVal print info for architecture archVal (“ppc”, “i386”, “hppa”, “sparc”, etc)
-p parameters print only some of the results. EACH OPTION CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE
Parameters:
f file name
F file name with quotes (i.e. “/usr/bin/lsbom”)
m file mode (permissions)
M symbolic file mode
g group id
G group name
u user id
U user name
t mod time
T formatted mod time
s file size
S formatted size
c 32-bit checksum
/ user id/group id
? user name/group name
PLEASE ADVISE, BC I FEEL I HAVE DELETED EVERYTHING RELATING TO FCP 5 BUT FCP STUDIO STILL WON’T ACTIVE TO INSTALL.THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Typically you can’t uninstall FCP…something is left behind. But, try this application.

If it doesn’t work, then you will need to reformat your drive and install the OS from scratch too.
