  • FCP 6 Transition plugins/downloads?

Posted by Seth Blaustein on April 26, 2011 at 3:35 pm

I looked through old posts, but couldn’t seem to find anything regarding this, and had asked the same question on a 2 year old post but received no response.

I am looking for information on downloads/plugins for FCP 6 to create more professioanl transitions, such as the new alpha transitions available in FCP 7. I am not updating to 7 yet, but I want to exhaust my options for 6 in terms of locating more professional grade transitions.

I am looking for free/inexpensive options, but want to consider all options.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Search FCP plugins. That should give you many results. FX Factory, CoreMelt, CGM, etc…

Sorry, it’s gonna cost you. People work hard to make these plugins.

If you are up for a challenge, you can create these alpha type transitions yourself.

FYI, a dissolve is a very professional transition. Say Cheese!

I just bought some of these and they are awesome. Very ‘Organic’ for transitions. Clients love ’em! (No affiliation, just user)

Check out FX Factory and CGM Video for the most creative and interesting plugins Ive come across for FCP (FX Factory also works in After Effects).

Too Much Too Soon’s Flashframe is free and cool. Take a look at this article on Free FCP plug-ins.

Hey Stephen, I just saw an image on your home page. Is that Tim Nelson sitting in the clients chair. I lived in SLC for 18 years and worked as an editor at STS. I could swear I know that profile 😉

Tom, Ray Opheikens is sitting on the couch in the edit bay. He is our IT/Compression guy. He also plays the bass in a few bands.
