Hey guys, had a quick question about my FCP startup. I get past the splash screen usually all of the windows come up but after that, all I get is that annoying color wheel spinning forever and FCP will not fully boot up. It takes me about 4 tries on average to get it to fully boot. Anyone else have this problem? I wondered if it might be the fact that I only have 1GB of RAM but I doubt it. Suggestions?

    I wouldn’t.

    From Apple website:

2GB of RAM when working with compressed HD and uncompressed SD sources
4GB of RAM when working with uncompressed HD sources

what is your graphics card? that can be a factor. Mine would not start up this week till I upgraded. Now it still blacks out accasionally.

I think I’m seeing ATI Radeon X1900 XT. Sorry guys. New to Mac which also adds to the pain.

It’s cool. Thanks for checking it out. I guess my next move is just another GB of RAM. Thanks Brian.
