FCP 6 scratch in FCP 5?
Greetings Earthlings! I’m new to these forums, and usually get my answers from browsing but found no help. My question is this, is there a way to edit footage captured in FCP 6 in FCP 5? I want to do some editing over the holiday break (I work for a University) but can only get a licensed copy of FCP 5. Any help, or workaround’s will be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to edit in FCP5 if captured w/ FCP6, so long as you’re using the same version of Quicktime, but you’ll need to start a new project and add the clips manually. Final cut projects are not compatible with previous versions, even if it’s only a point upgrade.
