    hi all

i have a power mac quad with the Aja Kona LHE and Sonet tempo port multiplier with two fusion 500 encasments raided zero.

i also have the Mac pro Quad with three 500 gig drives Two of which i’ve raded Zero

ive recently upgraded from Studio to Studio 2 on both machines but the powermac reports drop frames on old projects i open up and the mac pro plays them perfectly. although the mac pro is a newer machine the power mac has the faster drives.

can anyone tell me what the problem is?

i’ve clean installed both machines and all my drivers are up to date.

i’ve not had this problem before and i’ve cut 10 bit uncompressed 4.2.2 hd on the powermac.

    Please help

Run Disk Warrior and Disk Utility — Fix Permissions and see if that helps.

    Franco,

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Kona drivers. The latest round of updaters corrupted my fresh install of the 4.0 drivers and played havoc with FCP. The uninstall routine is in the Kona Applications folder that automatically installs in your Applications folder on your system drive.

I am running a G5 dual 2 Gig, no problems playing back any video. You must have a bad install. Render times are awful on a G5 dual 2 Gig!
