    Hi,
I hope someone can help me.

I’m working with a FCP 6 in a projetc that has tapes in diferent formats and footages. Most of it is HDV PAL, but I also have to work with HDV NTSC, DV NTSC, and maybe DV PAL.
When I first started working with fcp 6 I tested the HDV footages (PAL and NTSC) in the same timeline to see if it worked and everything was fine. So I started the project.
Until yesterday I had worked 5 days capturing HDV (PAL and NTSC) and everything worked as expected.
I was worried how it would work in pos-production so I decided to do a test, mixing all formats and footages in a single timeline. So I captured DV NTSC material to put in the timeline.
The problem was when I tried to continue capturing HDV format. The deck didn’t recognize the HDV material, it only works now with DV material. I’ve triple checked the configuration, I’ve restarted the computer, I’ve tried even creating a new project and deleting the FCP preferences. Nothing worked.

I don’t know what else to do. I’m starting to lose my faith in FCP.

    Thanks.

    Julia

Do you have a deck that supports HDV? HDV doesn’t have PAL or NTSC limitations, b/c it’s a compressed form of HD. What are your capture settings for the said “HDV PAL and NTSC” formats?

thanks, it was a deck problem, I don’t know why but it disconfigured when I captured DV footage and then, after changing the settings, tried to capture hdv footage.
I am using a HDV deck from sony, the one with lcd monitor.
I am using hdv for the first time and I found it a very non pro format so far.
    Thanks anyway.
