When I playback the video in the timeline, FCP is dropping the frames. It shouldnt be the computer as it’s brand new with 4gb of ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks

It’s not the computer. It’s either your hard drive is too slow or your system is not set up correctly to play back your format.

Precisely what type of video? SD, HD, compressed, uncompressed? Precisely what type of hard drives are you using in you new system and precisly how are they configured? No one can give you the type of informed help you’re looking for without this important information.
