I am exporting a video file from FCP 6 and when I export to Quicktime with current setting, Audio and Video, and then uncheck the Self Contained box, my end result has no video when I go to play it back, it only has audio. Any thoughts?

Check the SELF CONTAINED box. You want a single, stand alone QT file. Unchecking it means that the file you create will point to the original media…the captured files and render files on your media drive. Remove that drive, and the link is broken.

Not everyone wants a rendered self-contained file. I export reference files all the time to make mp4’s in Compressor. The question is, why no video? This was days ago so maybe you solved the problem. If not, you have Video & Audio selected right, not just Audio?
