  • FCP 6 error while rendering…what causes this?

So we had the file in use error, added the render folder so spotlight didn’t index it…that is gone, but now we get the file is locked error. Supposedly all volumes are at least read, and read/write on 1 volume…this is happening with both our FCP 6s using shared storage, and shared media. This has also happened on another FCP, 5.1.4, and the operator claims it happens all the time, and he doesn’t know why (hasn’t found anything on this error online either), the only thing that helps is to re-render the sequence…sometimes it takes a couple times to get it completely rendered…..that just doesn’t seem right to me…is their anything we can do to avoid this error?

Try setting “Ignore Ownership ” in the external storage.
