Really basic this, I’m sure, but I can’t figure it out.

I’m sing FCP 6 and when I add chapter markers to one particular sequence, and when I move the playhead back to any of the previously inserted chapter markers, the right-hand side of the green marker is red. This doesn’t happen in any of the other sequences I have made. Can’t find anything in the literature (‘though I’m sure it must be there) – what does it actually mean? Don’t want to go ahead and use the sequence if it might be some kind of warning. Please see image below.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    it means nothing (serious),
just a glitch in the way FCP displays,
it will probably clear up if you trash your prefs.

    you can do that manually
or Digital rebellion has a tool for it:

    https://www.digitalrebellion.com/blog/posts/how_to_trash_preferences.html

of course once you trash your prefs you will have to re-set them
(unless you like having only 10 undos!)

once you reset them use Digital Rebellion’s pref manager to back them up for next time you need to trash them.
