FCP 6 Capturing Audio/Video in same file
Hi,
I am using FCP 6. When I capture from a dv deck, it places the video files as MOV in the Capture Scratch folder and the audio files in the Audio Capture Scratch folder.
When I go to play the MOV of the video files from Quicktime, it does not play the audio portion…I need to play the Audio file separately to hear just the audio. Is there a setting that can be applied that at the time FCP is capturing, both audio/video are captured in the same MOV file?

Yes, it’s in the Preferences, specifically the:
Final Cut Pro > System Settings pref pane.
This is where you set your scratch disks. If you notice in the middle of the “Scratch Disks” tab, there’s an option to ‘Capture Audio and Video to Separate Files”. Uncheck that and recapture.
