  • FCP 6 – 1 frame off on output…wtf?

this weekend I was laying back to a sony digibeta — NTSC 29.97 — using my 8-core, kona 3 based FCP 6 system.

In the timeline, everything was dead on — but playing back the tape, everything was 1 frame late.

At least it was consistently 1 frame so I just off-set the insert point and everything went down fine.

The weird part was the internally generated bars and tone hit the tape exactly on-time, it was only the edited material.

    (only).

Anybody have any ideas or similiar experiences? Thanks.

You can set the device control setting to automatically match the characteristics of your system.
It basically needs calibration so that it’s frame accurate for capture and record.

“-You can set the device control setting to automatically match the characteristics of your system.”

I use FCP 6.0.2 and have the same problem. Where in
final cut do you find that setting? I´ve checked
under device control settings but nada, nothing.
    Anyone? I appreciate all help!!
