FCP 5.2.1?
Posted by Devin Crane on August 7, 2006 at 7:01 pmCheck out the Mac Pro performance page and were it shows the performance differences of the old G5 compared to the new MAC Pros and it states FCP 5.2.1. Was this a miss print? Or are they about to come out with a new update?

August 7, 2006 at 7:03 pmDoubt it’s a misprint. Probably a new update to the app to take advantage of the new processors on the Mac Pro.

That was just to make the switch from Mac to Universal Binary version. You should not need any new discs until the next version of FCP is shown.

August 7, 2006 at 8:53 pmBased on the language, it suggests that 5.2.1 still won’t take advantage of the PCI-express GPU rendering the way Motion and Appeture do. Have to wait for FCP 6 I guess.

August 7, 2006 at 9:27 pmNow that the proper hardware is in place, I’m sure the next round of major software updates will support this even if it is FCP 6.
